For my English class I was assigned to create a project with Storify.com. I assembled a few of my favorite quotes and pictures with themes of silence and self-doubt. Perhaps I should consider it still a work in progress, but this was what I accomplished under the time limit of the class:
From the West and looking East, I'm an American looking at South, East, and Central Asian cultures through life experiences, personal relationships, light research, and language learning.

Lost Songs of Anatolia
This is a Turkish song called "The Lost Songs of Anatolia." Anatolia is the Asian part of Turkey, formerly known as Asia Minor. I don't know much else about this video, or any of its lyrical or visual content for that matter. I found this video by chance on YouTube.
And it is beautiful.
I began tutoring English to a Turkish woman this year, so I hope to learn some more about these cultures.

Poem: Ghazal Haiku
Ghazal Haiku
New and precious as a little bird
Brutal and vicious as a tiger
Too fragile and terrible to hold without murder
And refusing to let go either
New and precious as a little bird
Brutal and vicious as a tiger
Too fragile and terrible to hold without murder
And refusing to let go either
